12 Days Wildlife Safari (Samburu, Aberdare, Nakuru, Mara, Naivasha & Amboseli )

Day 01: Nairobi -Samburu
Pick up from the Hotel/Airport and drive north crossing the Equator to Samburu Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch. This is an area of wild and stark beauty with thorn scrub, volcanic rock and dramatic rocky mesas. Palms grow on the banks of the meandering Ewaso Nyiro River, which attracts the many wild animals of the region. Samburu is the home to many rare species of animals such as the reticulated giraffe, gravy zebra, beisa Oryx, and the long-necked gerenuk antelope. An afternoon game drive in the reserve is followed by dinner and overnight in at Samburu Sopa lodge/similar.

Day 02: Samburu
One full day will be spent in this reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. Samburu National Reserve is a wildlife haven. The reserve is also popular with a minimum of 900 elephants. Large predators such as; lion. Leopard and cheetah are an important attraction. Some animals are unique to this northern Kenya Park: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and gerenuk. The Ewaso Nyiro River, the boundary with the neighboring Buffalo Springs National Reserve, is where the elephants, buffalo and other animal species gather for a drink. You will find the scenic semi-arid landscape quite dramatic. The reserve is located within the lands of the colorful semi-nomadic Samburu tribesmen. Day 03: Samburu- Aberdare
After an early breakfast drive to Aberdare National Park, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. This park has a dramatic wooden lodge built deep within the forest. A floodlit waterhole and salt lick in full view of the comfortable lounge areas allow guests to watch animals at any time of night, rhino, lion, elephant and buffalo are regular visitors. Dinner and overnight at treetops lodge/similar.

Day 04: Aberdare- Nakuru
Depart after breakfast and drive to Nakuru arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. After lunch enjoy your afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park you will see huge flocks of pink flamingoes as well as other birdlife and many animals, especially waterbuck and warthogs. Dinner and overnight at a lake Nakuru Sopa lodge/ similar.

Day 05: Nakuru – Masai mara
Enjoy breakfast and drive to Masai Mara National Reserve arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. After lunch you will enjoy a game drive which will allow you the chance to enjoy the interaction of wild animals in the magnificent park. As well as searching for the Big Five, you will see herds of plains game and spot many marvelous birds. The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles, over 400 bird species recorded on the reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five. Dinner and overnight at a Masai mara Sopa Lodge/ similar.

Day 06: Masai mara
This day you will be in Masai mara with a morning and afternoon game drive. All meals and overnight at mara Sopa lodge/similar.

Day 07: Masai mara – Naivasha
Depart after breakfast and drive to Naivasha arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. You can enjoy a boat ride at an extra cost. Dinner and an overnight at Lake Naivasha sopa lodge.

Day 08: Naivasha-Amboseli
Enjoy breakfast and drive to Amboseli National Park arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon enjoy a game drive in the park. Situated at the foot of towering, snow – peaked Mount Kilimanjaro (the tallest mountain in Africa), this 1,000 sq. mile park is best known for its abundance of elephant. An evening game drive offers an opportunity to see these proud giants up close and the chance to spot many other species of animals and birds. Return to the lodge in time for dinner and overnight at Kibo safari camp/similar.

Day 09: Amboseli full day
Full day spent here with a morning and afternoon game drive. All meal and overnight at Kibo safari camp similar.

Day 10: Amboseli – Tsavo west
After breakfast, you will depart Amboseli and head to Tsavo West National Park. Tsavo West is renowned for its dramatic scenery, including volcanic hills, rock outcrops, and the iconic Mzima Springs, where you may observe hippos and crocodiles from the underwater viewing chamber. You will enjoy a mid-morning game drive and explore the park’s stunning landscapes, including Shetani Lava Flow. Afterward, you will check in at your lodge or camp, such as Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge/ similar, where you will have lunch and relax. In the afternoon, another game drive awaits, offering opportunities to see the park’s diverse wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, and leopards. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Tsavo west to Tsavo east.
After breakfast proceed to Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s largest and oldest parks, famous for its red elephants and vast savannah. Upon arrival at Buchuma Gate, you will enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge, where you may spot lions, cheetahs, zebras, and elephants. After checking in at your lodge, Voi wildlife lodge or similar, you will have lunch and relax. Later in the afternoon, you will embark on a game drive. Dinner and an overnight stay at Voi wildlife lodge or similar.

Day 12 Tsavo east to Nairobi
On your final day enjoy your breakfast at leisure, check out at your hotel and leave for Nairobi. Drop off at your hotel or the airport for your outbound flight
