Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
Depart Nairobi in the morning for Samburu National Reserve, passing through the equator and the scenic landscapes of northern Kenya. Arrive at Samburu Simba Lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive in search of elephants, lions, leopards, and the unique Samburu Special Five (reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx). Dinner and overnight at Samburu Simba Lodge.
Day 2: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve
Enjoy a full day of thrilling game drives across Samburu’s diverse habitats, with breaks for lunch and relaxation at the lodge. Witness the reserve’s rich wildlife and dramatic landscapes. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Simba Lodge.
Day 3: Samburu – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, arriving in time for lunch at Maisha Sweetwaters. In the afternoon, visit the endangered species enclosure and the chimpanzee sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at Maisha Sweetwaters.
Day 4: Ol Pejeta – Lake Nakuru National Park
Depart Ol Pejeta after breakfast for Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge for lunch, then explore the park’s rhino sanctuary and watch for flamingos, pelicans, lions, and leopards. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, travel to the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at Mara Serena Safari Lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive across the vast savannahs. Dinner and overnight at Masai Mara sopa Lodge.
Day 6: Full Day in Masai Mara
Spend the entire day exploring the Masai Mara, home to an abundance of wildlife including the Big Five. Enjoy picnic lunches in the bush or return to the lodge for meals. Dinner and overnight at Masai Mara sopa Lodge.
Day 7: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha. Enjoy a boat ride to see hippos, birdlife, and possibly walk among wildlife at Crescent Island. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort.
Day 8: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park
Depart for Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for lunch at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive with breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and sightings of large elephant herds. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli sopa Lodge.
Day 9: Amboseli – Nairobi
After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi where your safari ends. Drop off at your hotel or the airport.
