Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
You will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi in the morning and begin your scenic journey north through Kenya’s central highlands. Pass through Nanyuki and the equator line before descending into the semi-arid region of Samburu. Arrive at Samburu Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. After some rest, enjoy your first afternoon game drive in the reserve, where you may encounter elephants, leopards, lions, and the unique northern species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Full Day in Samburu
Spend the day exploring the rugged terrain of Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. Visit different areas of the park including the Ewaso Nyiro River banks, which attract a variety of wildlife. Look out for the Samburu Special Five and enjoy birdwatching opportunities as well. Return to the lodge in between drives for meals and relaxation. Overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.
Day 3: Samburu to Nairobi
Enjoy a final early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. After check-out, drive back to Nairobi with a stop for lunch en route. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon and drop off at your hotel or residence.
